Title: Let's E-mail the White House - An Internet Project

E-mail Program ; Eudora (any e-mail
program)
Research: The class needs to
complete the activity, 'Internet Scavenger Hunt of the White House'.
This will enable the students to become familair with the White House
Web Site. It may also cause them to become curious about the goings
on and bring a particular question to mine, which they may e-mail to
the White House.
Goal: To introduce the
organization and development of The White House Web Site as source of
information. Students will find answers to questions on activity
sheet, analyze information, and form good questions to e-mail.
Objectives:
1.Students will read find the internet site on the
bookmarked area.
2. Students will find the answers on the Internet Scavenger Hunt of
the White
House Activity Sheet.
3. Students will learn to appropriate questioning techniques.
4. Students, in small groups, will write their questions.
5.Students will learn to use the e-mail program and send their
questions.
6. Students learn to coordinate and organize ideas.
Procedure:
1. Students will go to http://www.whitehouse.gov and complete
the 'Internet
Scavenger Hunt of the White House' Activity House.
2. Teacher will introduce the Web Site to the White House on the
projection
device connected to the internet.
3. Students are ready to go to the computers, in pairs to work from
their activity
sheets to gain information about the White House.
5. Students will develop a list of questions that they may find
curious.
6. Students can open the e-mail program and type their questions to a
particular person or a an occupation (chef, door man, etc.)

You can do this with any major web site. Teacher can make up activity
sheet.
