Research
:
Students must develop a story, using appropriate story writing techniques, with two or three different endings.

Goal: To introduce the organization of a fiction story in a storyboard format.
In each of the boxes the student will draw their backgrounds, import graphics, clip art, photos, and finally type their story.

Students can also use the Inspiration, as a Graphic Organizer to sequence ideas.

Objectives:

  1. Students will learn to select a main idea for a story with several different endings.
  2. Students will learn to develop details supporting the different endings.
  3. Students will learn to find appropriate graphics/drawings to coordinate with text.
  4. Students will learn to incorporate other technologies (digital photos, web camera video clips), sound and recordings (music CDs).
  5. Students learn to coordinate and organize ideas.


Procedure
:
1.Students will select an idea and develop an organized story.
2. Develop storyboard, filling out drawings, buttons, and writing in the text for
planning purposes.
3.Teacher will introduce the program, Hyperstudio, to entire class using
projection device, detailing with a short story.
4. Students are ready to go to the computers, in pairs or groups of threes, to work
from their storyboards.
5.As the students continue to design and write, storyboards can be changed,
updated, and refined.
6. As students complete each storyboard, keep in their folder.
7. Complete final activity with a ‘Share Day’ using a projection device and invite other classes.
8. Students made up a list of criteria in which they followed and will be evaluated.
9. Students can create an ‘Author’s Page’ , incorporating digital photography
and video clips if themselves being interviewed.
