Title: Counting Book

Grade Level: Kindergarten, early grade 1

Curriculum Area:
math and Language Arts

Tools: Kid Pix Studio, counting books and other stories that can lend themselves to be used. (ex. Fish Eyes, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, etc.)

Background:
Teacher should be familiar with this computer program. Students should have a good number sense. Many counting books should be read to the students.

Goal: Students will use their counting skills to make a number book.

Objective: To use the stamps or drawing tool in Kid Pix Studio to show the correct numeration.

Procedure:
1. Brainstorm a theme for your book.
2. Have students work in pairs to create a book that shows numbers 1-10.
3. Each pair of students makes the correct number of pictures or stamps to correspond to the numeral for that page.
4. After the students have finished their pages, help them print it out and make it into a book.
