Research: Students must read background information on their topic. An encyclopedia article, short story, or anything else that will provide students with basic information so that they may be able to work in the storyboard format.

Goal: To introduce the organization of the graphic organizer

Objectives:

  1. Students will learn to select a main topic ( this may be done by the teacher, to insure consistency within the curriculum )
  2. Students will learn to develop supporting details.
  3. Students will learn to formulate questions from the supporting details.
  4. Students will learn to classify and group questions according to similarities.
  5. Students learn to organize ideas.

Procedure:
1.Students will select (or teacher will select) topic to be investigated.
2. Make certain background information, on the topic; is available for students to read.
3.Teacher will introduce the program, Inspiration, to entire class using projection device, detailing with a topic similar to that, which was selected.
4. Students are ready to go to the computers, in pairs, to work on their storyboards
5. .As students complete each web, print and keep in their folder.
6. Encouage students to update their web as they progress in their topic.

Inspiration can be used in any activity where sequential ideas, supporting ideas, narratives, descriptive, expository writing, persuasive writing, research notes or any type of organization is utilized.
