Title: A Yearbook
Grade Level: K-1
Curriculum Area: Language Arts
Tools: Quick Cam or digital camera, Kid Pix Studio Deluxe
Background: teacher and students should know how to operate the
computer program and the camera.
Goal: The students will create a book of memories from their
school year.
Objective: To have the students use the skills of sentence
structure they have mastered.
Procedures:
1. Take a picture of each student in the class with the Quick Cam or
digital camera. Put it into the Kid Pix program.
2. Have the student type their name and write a sentence about him or
herself.
3. The student may draw some pictures or use the stampers to make the
page more personal.
4. Print a paper for each child in the classroom.
5. The students may go around and sign each others books near the end
of the school year.
Related Activities:
You may have picture pages ready for any activity throughout the
year. This is a good thing to have ready to go when a child moves to
a new school.
