STATEMENT:

Dreams have a power to transform themselves entirely while maintaining a seamless internal logic. One minute you and your cat are swimming in the ocean, suddenly your cat is an octopus, and youíre shopping for new shoes, but the line at the checkout counter is too long, twelve items or less, Mister! This kind of contextual evolution is the primary inspiration for my dreamsketch series, presently the focus of my composing efforts. The dream metaphor provides a loose framework in which to play with the forces of composition and improvisation, ensemble and individual, theater and music, myth and reality, relishing in the ambiguities.
