AttendanceSince it is preferable to participate in a well-prepared performance, members of the Wesleyan Orchestra are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals, regardless of whether or not Orchestra is being taken for credit. Attendance is expected regardless of whether or not you play in the pieces being rehearsed. You will receive a detailed, printed schedule for each semester which will include both rehearsal and performance information. Please hold onto these schedules; however, if you should lose yours, you can find an updated online version at the schedule page. You will be notified of any changes to the original schedule by email. Rehearsal will begin promptly at 7:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please be prepared to play at 7:00; if you need to warm up please come early. Rehearsals will conclude at 9:30. Absences will only be excused due to severe illness or religious holiday. If you are going to miss a rehearsal due to illness or emergency, please give written or verbal advance notice (24 hrs + if possible). If you are going to miss a rehearsal due to religious holiday, please give your notice at the next rehearsal. If you are going to miss a performance for any reason whatsoever you must give written notification as much in advance as possible so that your part can be reassigned. We will assume your absence is invalid if we do not hear from you. If you have two or more unexcused absences you may be asked to reconsider your participation in this ensemble. All absence notification should be given to Angel. Angel Gil-Ordoñez, Music Director and Conductor, ext. 5383, RH 103, agilordonez@wesleyan.edu |
