Celebrating Don Quixote

  • CFA Theater
    Tickets: $5 A & B, $4 C

The Theater, Music and Romance Language Departments celebrate the 400th
anniversary of Don Quixote by presenting two vibrant works of theater
directed by Visiting Assistant Professor of Theater Robert Bresnick and
based on Cervantes’ literary masterwork. Master Peter’s Puppet Show is an
operetta by Manuel da Falla, featuring extraordinary puppets by Leslie
Weinberg and a live orchestra and singers under the direction of Angel
Gil-Ordóñez. It will play at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater
following its Wesleyan debut. The Miraculous Puppet Show, a short one-act
play by Cervantes, demonstrates his broad humor and political and social
consciousness. Talks and lectures (to be announced) will provide
    additional context for these performances.
