WESFEST: Barbara Ally, associate director of programs and events for the Center for the Arts, speaks to prospective students about the Center for the Arts inside Crowell Concert Hall during WesFest April 20. WesFest, an annual campus event, is a three-day showcase of Wesleyan for admitted students.

Ben Winslow, a biology Ph.D candidate, spoke to prospective science majors about his research in the Burke Lab, run by Ann Burke, associate professor of biology.
Writer/Director Alexander Payne, left, and his writing partner, Jim Taylor, met with Jeanine Basinger, the Corwin-Fuller Professor of Film Studies, following the screening of their movie, "Election" on April 20. Payne and Taylor won Oscars for their movie, "Sideways."
Members of the campus community and admitted students and their parents enjoy a picnic luncheon at the Center for the Arts Courtyard April 21. King George and the Jesters provided musical entertainment.
During WesFest, Barbara-Jan Wilson, vice president for University Relations, met with Jed Hoyer '96, Boston Red Sox assistant general manager. Hoyer, a four-year letter winner in baseball at Wesleyan, spoke about the connection between a Wesleyan liberal arts education and success in the changing world of professional sports.
