LATINO AWARENESS MONTH:
Marinieves Alba ’98 discusses her work for social justice Nov. 14 as
part of Latino Awareness Month. Alba explained representations of
struggle, protest and identity in Hip Hop, and ways music be used as a
tool to empower and educate.
Alba’s talk was one of 18 presentations
featured during the month. Upcoming Latino Awareness
events include Expresiones de Latinos at 8 p.m. Nov. 18 in Crowell
Concert Hall; Nosotras: Mirabal Sisters Nov. 28 and Noche De Gala, an
annual undergrad, staff, and alumni semi-formal dance Dec. 2. (Photos by
