A GOOD CREW:
Wesleyan men's crew celebrated an outstanding year of rowing in 2006-07.
Its fall campaign was highlighted by a fifth-place showing among 58
entires in the collegiate eight division of the prestigious Head of the
Charles Regatta in Boston and a second-place effort among 20 crews at
the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga, N.Y. |

Once spring rowing began, the varsity eight
won its opening dual race in Winter Park, Fla. as a prelude to a nearly
undefeated season. The rowers later competed against Bates in Malden,
Mass. pictured above. |

Ranked second in New England most of the
spring, the varsity eight defeated Williams in the Little Three regatta
for the first time since 1999, claiming the coveted Saratoga Oar to
commemorate its Little Three title. |

Following their 11-1 dual-race performance,
the Cardinals rowed their way to a silver medal at the New England
Rowing Championships in Worcester, Mass. Wesleyan defeated Williams a
second time at New Englands and also knocked off the Ephs during the
ECAC Invitational Collegiate Championships in Whitney Point, N.Y. but no
final places were determined as poor weather conditions cancelled the
final day of the event. Over the last four years, the varsity eight is
32-12 in dual races and has three top-four finishes at New Englands,
including a title in 2004, to its credit. (Photos by Jim Cody P'07,
