The crew rows north on the Connecticut River
towards the Arrigoni Bridge between Middletown and Portland, Conn. They

Ann Goodwin, associate vice president for
University Relations and crew co-coordinator, rows in the stroke seat. "We
have rowers who rowed competitively in college and rowers who don't
consider themselves athletic at all---but what we have in common is the
desire to try this exciting sport, to be out on the water, and to enjoy
the group," she says. "It's been a terrific way for people to get to
know each other better and many of us have fallen in love with rowing." |
