A GRAD INTRODUCTION: President Michael Roth spoke during the Graduate Student Association Reception Oct. 8 in the Fayerweather ballroom. The reception was held to introduce the graduate student community to the president, and allow students an opportunity to mingle with each other and faculty advisors.

Music Department graduate students Brian Parks, left, and Yang Min, center, were among more than 30 graduate students who attended the reception.
Graduate student Joshua Bodyfelt explains how his graduate experience in the Physics Department enriches his Wesleyan educational experience.
More than a dozen faculty attended the reception, including Mark Slobin, chair of Music Department, professor of music; David Bodznick, Dean of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, professor of biology and neuroscience and behavior; and John Kirn, director of Graduate Studies and associate professor of biology and neuroscience and behavior.
Roth spoke about his personal experience in graduate school during the reception. The Graduate Student Association hopes the event will lead to further collaboration between the graduate students and the President's Office. (Photos by Olivia Bartlett)
