PLACE OF RACE: Theodore "Ted" Shaw '76 spoke at Wesleyan on "The Place of Race in 21st Century America" Dec. 1 in Tishler Lecture Hall.

Shaw is director-counsel and president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the nation's premier civil rights organization. In May 2004, Shaw became the fifth person to lead the organization in its 64-year history.
Dozens of students, staff, faculty and members of the local community attended Shaw's talk. A question and answer session followed the lecture.
