LAUGHS WITH THE LION: Second grade
students from the Independent Day School attended
the Center for East Asian Studies Outreach Program Feb. 1. Wesleyan
students presented the Chinese Lion Dance and drumming for the children.
This year marks the program's 20th anniversary.
Chia-Wei "Wade" Hsu '10 and his Wesleyan
peers trained for the traditional lion dance over holiday recess.
I-Hsiao "Michelle" Chen '08, center, works
with students on writing Chinese characters. Wesleyan students work with
area children to teach East Asian culture during the Outreach Program.
Yashan Zhou '09 teaches the students how to
make their own sushi rolls using seaweed wraps, rice, carrots and tuna.
