RETURNING TO RESEARCH, TEACHING:
Peter Patton, vice president and secretary of the university and
professor of earth and environmental sciences, was honored at a
reception April 30 in Beckham Hall for being part of Wesleyan's
administration for 13 years. In 2008-09, he will return to a full-time
position as a professor. |

Wesleyan's former president, Doug Bennet,
attended the reception to honor Patton. In 1995, Bennet asked Patton to
join his senior staff. Under the Bennet administration, Patton worked as
senior advisor for information technology, twice as interim dean of the
college and once as interim vice president for administration.
