(MIDDLETOWN, CT) – Wesleyan University's Olin Memorial Library recently earned a TOBY, "The Office Building of the Year" award, for property maintenance in the historic building category from the Greater Hartford Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

The award will be presented to Wesleyan University on Thursday, January 13 at The Hartford Club, 46 Prospect Street, Hartford, during BOMA's annual business meeting. The award presentations will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will conclude at 1:30 p.m.

Olin Memorial Library was first opened in 1928 as a memorial to Stephen Olin, Wesleyan's president from 1842 to 1851 and his son Stephen Henry Olin, class of 1866. Stephen Olin was a Wesleyan trustee for 45 years and the University's acting president in 1922 and 1923. Henry Bacon, who designed the Lincoln Memorial, began the original plans for the building.

The TOBY Awards are offered annually to nominated institutions on a competitive basis. The competition involves the inspection of the facility by an independent group of architects, engineers and facility managers that examine all aspects of the buildings performance, maintenance and condition.
