Housing and Meals

Housing and Meals
Limited on-campus housing may be available to Community Scholars on a space-available basis. If space is available, the Residential Scholar may choose to take the space available or they may elect to live off-campus. Please note: determinations of space availability may not be made until the first week of the semester. Community Scholars traveling to Wesleyan to study are encouraged to find off-campus housing.

In order to be eligible for campus housing, Community Scholars must be enrolled in at least three (3) credits (this is considered a full-time course load). Students in campus housing who drop below three (3) credits will be obliged to vacate their room within 24 hours.

The per-term Residential Comprehensive Fee for 2017-2018 is $7,233 for freshmen and sophomores; the fee is $8,223 for juniors and seniors. This includes a 135-meal plan. Only those Community Scholars in campus housing are eligible for a meal plan. Students requesting housing must provide proof of compliance with the State of Connecticut immunization requirements, must be over the age of 18, and must have previously lived in an on-campus college or university residence. If you are interested in on-campus housing, please email Sarah-Jane Ripa, Associate Director for Student Services.

Community Scholars who do not reside in campus housing will not be assigned a meal plan. They may add Middletown Cash to their WesCard. Middletown Cash may be used in all Wesleyan dining facilities for meals, as well as for a variety of other purchases.

The end date is the date of key return to the Office of Residential Life as outlined in the Housing Contract. No refunds are granted for the final two weeks of each term.

Dining Refunds
These refunds are pro-rated up to the value remaining in the semester in which the withdrawal occurs. No refunds are granted for the final two weeks of each term.
