Girls
Learn, International
Girls Learn International is a non-profit service
learning initiative involving American girls in the international effort for
global girls’ education. Girls Learn International Chapters are based in
middle schools and high schools in urban, suburban and rural communities.
College students may participate as interns in a number of capacities as
part of the Girls Learn International College Leadership Division.

Great Hollow Wilderness School
A branch of the Regional YMCA or Western, CT. It is
the older non-profit outdoor education program in Connecticut. It provides
adventure programming, leadership development, and diversity education to
Upward Bound schools and other school-based educational opportunity
programs.
GHWS is seeking staff members. It is looking for hard
working, intelligent, and dynamic leaders to be positive examples for
students in need of strong role models. Applications are available at OCS.
The Lipper Internship
Program: Museum of Jewish Heritage
The Lipper Internship brings together graduate and
undergraduate students from across the Northeast to train in New York City
for a semester-long internship in museum education. Interns teach students
about the Holocaust in local schools in their college communities and on
visits to the Museum.
Side by Side –
Leadership Development Program
The Side by Side leadership development program uses an
interdisciplinary approach to cultivate leadership skills, foster social
awareness, and inspire hope in young people between the ages of 17 and 23.
The initiative, founded in the summer of 1996, offers programs rich in
experiential learning, personal growth, and community development.
Student Conservation
Association
Offers college students and young adults opportunities
to serve as Conservation Interns while preserving our nation’s rugged
backcountry landscape, endangered wildlife, and cultural treasures.
Since 1987, Toxics Action Center has assisted more than 200
neighborhood groups fighting pollution in their communities.
Toxics Action Center trains and assists residents to wage effective campaigns
against stubborn polluters and red tape bureaucracies, pressuring officials to
act to protect our neighborhoods' health and safety. We provide neighborhood
groups with information, education, organizing and group building assistance,
and a network of experts.

The 2003 New York City Summer Internship Program
The New York City Summer Internship Program from the department of
citywide administrative Services is offering undergraduate and
graduate students the opportunity to work in public service and to
become acquainted with governmental operations. Areas of service are
media, homeless services, environmental protection, information
technology, transportation and other municipal services.
