MISSION OF PROGRAM: To provide support
to reading time for 3-5th graders during school by taking best
readers and giving individual attention with Wesleyan student.
LOCATION OF PROGRAM: MacDonough
Elementary School 66 Spring St (12 min. walk from campus)
HISTORY: Just restarted Fall ’07, some
after school programs have gone to MacDonough in the past, but the program in
this capacity is relatively new.
ACTIVITIES: Reading with two or three
elementary school children in small private rooms.
SKILLS NEEDED: Reading and Discussion
COMMITMENT REQUIRED: At least 1 hour per
week every week once orientation takes place.
DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING/ORIENTATION
PROVIDED: Group orientation sessions will happen at Macdonough Elementary with
the principal to go over protocol and explanation of activities at the beginning
of every semester.
