Cameroon

School for International Training - Cameroon: Social Pluralism and Development (Dschang, Yaounde) 
Fall or spring. Wesleyan requires French 112 or the equivalent. Life and culture, independent study suitable for anthropology or a number of other fields.

Ghana

SUNY College at Brockport University of Ghana Exchange (Accra)
Fall, spring or full year. Appropriate for people who want a real immersion in African university life and who are independent and highly motivated.

School for International Training - Ghana: Social Transformation and Cultural Expression (Accra, Kumasi)
Fall or spring. Strong focus on theater, music, dance or the visual arts in Africa. Thematic seminars, intensive Twi language, independent study suitable for arts, sociology or anthropology credit. 

Kenya

Kalamazoo College Study in Kenya (Nairobi) 
Fall or full year. Courses in social sciences and humanities at the University of Nairobi, independent study and internship.

Saint Lawrence University Kenya Semester Program (Nairobi)
Fall or spring. Prerequisite of one African Studies course. Required Swahili and field study/internship plus two other courses, usually in government or African history.

School for International Training - Kenya: Urbanization, Health and Human Rights (Nairobi)
Fall or spring. Swahili language, rural development, focused on Nairobi with a village stay.

School for Field Studies - Wildlife Management Studies
Fall or spring. Wildlife management, wildlife ecology, environmental policy and socioeconomic values, directed study project. Restricted to biology, CoE, E&ES, ENVS, SISP majors, and students working on the Certificate in Environmental Studies.

Madagascar

School for International Training - Madagascar: Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management
Fall or spring.  Wesleyan requires that students have the equivalent of 4 semesters of college level French. Seminar on Madagascar's ecology, French and Malagasy language study, independent study. Restricted to biology, CoE, E&ES, ENVS, SISP majors, and students working on the Certificate in Environmental Studies.

Senegal

Kalamazoo College in Senegal (Dakar) 
Full year only. Requires French 112 or the equivalent. Courses on French language and African culture at the Institut Français pour les Étrangers, direct enrollment in courses at the Université de Dakar, independent study and internship.

South Africa

School for International Training - South Africa: Social and Political Transformation (Durban)
Fall or spring. In close association with the University of Natal (UND). Zulu language, focus on understanding the consequences of apartheid and the reconstruction of South African society.

University of Cape Town
Fall or spring or full year. Direct enrollment at UCT, an excellent research university. Wide range of courses in humanities, social sciences and sciences. Some background in African Studies preferred. Students can take language courses in Afrikaans, Zulu or Xosa.

Tanzania

School for International Training - Tanzania: Wildlife Conservation and Political Ecology (Arusha, Moshi, Serengeti Park)
Fall or spring. Requires previous course work in biology or E&ES. Swahili language, field-work based environmental studies.
