Sea Education Association Semester
Fall or spring. Shore component based in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, plus 6-week Atlantic or Pacific voyage. Programs combine oceanography, maritime history and culture, environmental history, environmental policy, and nautical science.
Semester in Environmental Science
Fall only. Ecosystem biogeochemistry and biology of coastal bays, ponds, wetlands, and forests at the Marine Biological Laboratory on Cape Cod (based in Woods Hole).
Twelve College Exchange
Wesleyan University participates in a cooperative program for residential student exchange with the following colleges: Amherst, Bowdoin, Connecticut, Dartmouth, Mount Holyoke, Smith, Trinity, Vassar, Wellesley, and Wheaton. Programs associated with the Twelve College Exchange are the National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut, sponsored by Connecticut College and the Williams-Mystic Seaport Program in American Maritime Studies in Mystic, Connecticut. Williams-Mystic Maritime Studies Program
Fall or spring. An interdisciplinary semester focused on the world's oceans. Courses in history, marine sciences, environmental policy, and literature of the sea. Located at Mystic Seaport.
