Welcome information for the
class of 2014 will be available in the late spring of 2010.
Welcome Class of 2013 and Transfer, Exchange
and Visiting Students!
A life of intellectual and community engagement, of close friendships and new discoveries, of challenges and triumphs
awaits you here at Wesleyan. Throughout your time here, we encourage you to explore the tremendous range of academic and co-curricular opportunities available. Wesleyan is a unique place, where students have tremendous freedom to explore, but are challenged to build a coherent, meaningful program of study with the assistance of their faculty advisor. At Wesleyan, students play in the Javanese gamelan and the chamber orchestra, explore volcanoes with their Earth & Environmental Science class, run for the track team, lead the student government, work with students in the Middletown schools, participate in faculty research in the sciences, choreograph dance performances and so much more. We welcome your arrival and look forward to the ways you will enrich our community.
The Orientation
Program, which consists of International Student Orientation and
All New Student Orientation, is designed to introduce you to the Wesleyan
community and assist with the transition to university life.
Over the summer, staff in the Division of Student Affairs, in partnership with students and faculty, will be
working hard to prepare for your arrival on campus. This website
contains much information about the program we'll be putting
together and should answer many of your questions prior to
arrival. There are also several things you'll need to do to
prepare for your arrival. A checklist of items is available in
the menu to the left. We also encourage you to contact the
Orientation Office at any time with any questions or concerns.
You can email us
or call 860-685-5666 beginning June 1, when our office opens. If
you need assistance prior to that time, please don't hesitate to
contact me at 860-685-2467 or via email at
tshiner@wesleyan.edu.
I look forward to meeting you in the fall.

The Orientation Program
New Student Orientation (NSO) is a comprehensive
introduction to Wesleyan University. The program helps students build a
foundation for academic and co-curricular success. New students
will be introduced to Wesleyan's academic rigor through meetings with
their faculty advisors, faculty lectures, discussions, and skill-building
workshops. Wesleyan’s vast array of co-curricular opportunities, resources
and services for students will also be highlighted. Students will build
relationships with other students, faculty and administrators and have
important discussions about values, traditions, and community standards
at Wesleyan.
International Student Orientation begins four days
before NSO, to give international students time to recover from travel and
acclimate to campus, make cultural adjustments, and connect with campus
resources.
More information about the activities occurring during orientation can be
found here.
