Orientation for Spring Transfer Students

Tuesday, January 22nd

9:00am-12:00pm - Arrival to Campus
North College, Garden Level
Please check -in with the Office of Residential Life to retrieve your orientation packet, wescard and residential assignment.

10:00am-12:00pm - Parent Drop-In Hours with Class Deans
North College, Second Floor

12:00pm-1:00pm - Welcome Lunch
Usdan University Center, Room 108
Join residential life, your class dean, the vice president for student affairs, and other administrators for lunch and a welcome to the Wesleyan community from the President.

1:15pm-2:00pm - Pre-Registration Information Session
Usdan University Center, Room 110
Do you have questions about the electronic portfolio? What tasks need to be completed online? How does pre-registration work? Associate Registrar Paul Turenne will give a brief overview and answer your questions about the EPortfolio Orientation News and Checklist and the course registration process.

2:00pm-3:00pm - Nuts & Bolts Session
Usdan University Center, Room 110
Join your class dean and peer advisors for a discussion about academic programs, course selection and the University's Honor Code. The dean will answer your questions about making a successful academic transition to Wesleyan.

3:00pm-5:00pm - Individual Appointments with Class Dean or Faculty Advisor

5:30pm-7:00pm - Dinner in Usdan with Peer Advisors (optional)
Usdan University Center, Marketplace (Second Floor Dining)
Peer advisors will host a table in the West Wing of the Marketplace for students who have additional questions about course registration, academic programs or anything else related to academics at Wesleyan.

5:30pm-6:30pm - Pizza Dinner with transfer Connections (TC's)

8:00pm-9:00pm - How to be a Star Student

Learning at Wesleyan can be challenging whether you are a new or returning student. The peer advisors know how successful students at Wesleyan study and will share and discuss their strategies at this session.

8:30am - 5:00pm - Online Pre-Registration Adjustment through Eportfolio

The Wesleyan diversity education facilitators (WesDEF's) are a group of your peers who facilitate dialogues and anti-oppression workshops around campus. Join them for a discussion of what diversity means at Wesleyan and how you can join in the dialogue.
