Orientation activities:

Introduce students to the Essential Capabilities
(Writing, Speaking, Interpretation, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical
Reasoning, Designing, Creating, and Realizing, Ethical Reasoning,
Intercultural Literacy, Information Literacy, and Effective Citizenship)

Provide an introduction to the academic experience at
Wesleyan through sessions on studying, writing, the sciences and sample
faculty lectures

Introduce the academic advising system at Wesleyan and
assist students with registration for first semester courses

Provide opportunities to build relationships, engage in
community building, and discuss the values, traditions, and community
standards of the university

Introduce the numerous co-curricular opportunities,
resources and services for students on campus

Introduce the Middletown community through community
service opportunities, field trips and opportunities to connect with local
businesses

Provide opportunities to explore and settle into the
campus environment
