Subject: Bike Security Measures

Dear Students,

As we settle into the new school semester, it is important to remain vigilant in ensuring the security of your property. We want to alert you that there have been a series of bike thefts already. It is essential to always lock your bike to a secure bike rack with a sturdy lock when left unattended.  If you observe any suspicious activity around bike storage areas, call Public Safety right away.

In an effort to protect against further losses, Public Safety patrol officers will be putting U-locks on any bikes they come across that are insufficiently secured. Information will be posted on the lock regarding where the student can call to have the lock removed.

Finally, Public Safety is selling high quality locks at cost for $20 each at the dispatch desk at 208 High Street. Locks will be available at all times, and charges may be rendered on your WesID.

Best wishes and keep cycling,

Scott Rohde
Director,  Wesleyan Office of Public Safety
