Dear Families:
The spring semester is well underway here at Wesleyan. We hope
the semester has gotten off to a great start for you and your
student. Below is information you may find of interest as the
semester progresses.
The
2008 - 2009 academic calendar is now available online.
For students interested in Study Abroad programs, here are
some important deadlines and additional information:
February 15:
- Petitions due for programs not on the approved list
- Bologna program applications due
March 1:
- Application due for permission to study abroad
- Madrid application due
- Paris application due
Important Notes about Study Abroad:
- Please note that students also must apply to each
program they are considering; the above program deadlines
are only for Wesleyan's own fall or full-year programs.
- Other program deadlines vary and, in many cases,
decisions are made on a rolling basis.
- The increased interest in study abroad throughout the US
means that some programs fill; it is wise for students to
apply to a backup program as well as their first choice.
- Students should make sure that their passport is valid
for at least six months after the end date of their study
abroad program. It's a good idea for students to take care
of this now, since most will have to get visas from the
countries in which they are studying, and some visas are
stamped directly into passports.
- Visit the
Office of International Studies Web site for more
information.
- Be sure you also visit the
For Parents section of the OIS Web site.
Best wishes for a wonderful semester!
