Subject: Campus Climate Log

Dear community,

I am writing to inform you about the existence of the Campus Climate Log located at and to encourage you to use it as a tool for reporting and documenting your experiences, and advertising social justice programs. Although you may only access the Campus Climate Log (CCL) and view its content if you are located on Wesleyan's campus and it is difficult to access the link using the internet service in wood frame houses, the CCL is a vital tool for gauging campus social climate. In the past, some students have used the CCL to inform the greater campus about hate incidents and acts of intolerance, and to promote educational interventions and preventative efforts organized by students and staff. The most recent posts to the log describes the presence of "hate speech" graffiti observed on campus and the Diversity University: Moving from Theory to Practice educational effort.

For more information about the Campus Climate Log, please visit, your student portfolio, or me.

Remember, if you are engaged in any educational efforts or have heard about any issues, events, etc., please send a post to the Campus Climate Log. Sincerely,

Renee Johnson-Thornton
