Dear Classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018:

The following is a notice about annual insurance requirements for academic year 2015-16.  All students must comply even if your insurance will not change from the current academic year.  Please forward to your parent or guardian.

You must show proof annually of private insurance (waive) or enroll in the university-sponsored plan by August 15.  The only acceptable way to comply with university insurance requirements is by completing the necessary forms online, through Gallagher Student Health and Special Risk website at  The website is now open.  Attached is a letter and FAQ handout that will be sent to your home address in mid-June.

Failure to comply will automatically enroll you in the university-sponsored plan and a charge of $1,605 will be added to your student account in late September.  You will need to petition the auto enrollment fee after this date if you forget to file a private insurance waiver.  If you know you want the university insurance do not wait for auto enrollment (which will not happen until mid-September). It takes less than 2 minutes to enroll online. Enrolling early will ensure there is no delay in coverage and you will receive your ID card promptly. If you enroll in the university plan, we recommend using your Wesleyan PO Box address so your insurance card and statements arrive to your campus mailbox.

You will be asked to present your private insurance card for visits to the Health Center.  Remember to bring a copy with you to campus next fall.

Information about a voluntary dental plan will be sent at a later date.

Have a safe and healthy break.
