Dear Parents,

Greetings from Wesleyan, where we are busy preparing for one of the most exciting events of the year, Reunion & Commencement Weekend, which will be held May 19-22! View the R&C website for an up-to-date schedule for this very special event. The registration deadline is May 6.

For those planning ahead, Family Weekend is October 28-30. Watch for more details over the summer and early fall.

Parent Survey

Recently you received an email inviting you to complete the parent survey, which is conducted every four years by MIT for COFHE (Consortium on Financing Higher Education). Your collective responses to this confidential survey will help shape much of the work we do, as well as how we communicate with parents. We hope you will take the time to share your feedback.

Pay-it-Forward

Last call for parent resource volunteers!  We are seeking parents of current students who are willing to be contacted by families of prospective and new members of the Class of 2020. If you talked with a member of the Wesleyan family when your student was making that very important college decision, you may be inspired to do the same. Learn more and sign up.

Around Campus

Housing closes on Saturday, May 14 at 1 pm for undergraduates and on Monday, May 23 at 4:30 pm for graduating seniors.  The recent email sent to students regarding housing has been posted in recent correspondence.

Wesleyan Transportation Services is coordinating end of year shuttle services to Bradley airport and the New Haven train station. Tickets are on sale at the Box Office and the reservation deadline is May 10.

The men’s soccer team is coordinating a “Finals Care Package” fundraiser. The deadline to place an order is May 5. Packages will be hand delivered by members of the team on May 6. Learn more.

Now’s the time for your son/daughter to spring into a summer internship. The Career Center’s Cardinal Internship Program connects students with Wesleyan alumni and parents offering robust internship opportunities at a wide array of organizations such as Public Policy Productions, WeatherBug, Warner Music Group, Green Street Solar Power, Squarespace, and many more. Direct your student to the Center’s online recruiting platform, CareerDrive, to view and apply for these positions and access a full listing of summer internship and full-time job opportunities.

Events and Programs

On April 1 the Career Center hosted the third annual Connect@WES: Creating Connections . Connect@WES is designed to help students develop professional networking skills by speaking with volunteers and receiving their advice. With over 100 participants, it was a great success which could not have been accomplished without our wonderful parent volunteers.

A number of Wesleyan events are planned for on- and off-campus this spring.  Review the on-campus events calendar and off-campus events calendar for details. Information about Summer Sendoff gatherings will be available later this spring and throughout the summer. We hope you join us at an event near you!

Parents Fund

You may have recently received a call from one of our students seeking a gift in support of the Wesleyan experience. The callers enjoyed talking about their interests and endeavors on campus, and we hope those conversations offer parents a peek into Wesleyan on a more personal level.  To parents who have already made a gift to the Parents Fund this year - Thank you! We hope every parent will consider a gift, of any amount, to help us reach our goal of $1.6 million. Every gift matters.

Thank you to the 147 families who responded by making gifts ranging from $25 to $10,000!

Stay in Touch

We encourage you to keep up to date with campus news by reading President Roth’s blog, recent correspondence (read the email sent to students on March 31) and the Wesleyan homepage.

If you have questions or need assistance please contact our office at  parents@wesleyan.edu or (860) 685-3756. Enjoy the spring!
