Health Services and Programs

Wesleyan embraces wellness and provides a wide variety of services and programs to maintain body and mind, and encourage healthy habits for life.

The Davison Health Center provides a broad array of health services for your student, from routine medical visits and laboratory testing to immunizations to smoking cessation. You'll also find important information about mandated health insurance and links for the University Health Plan.

The Office of Behavioral Health for Students (OBHS) helps students deal with emotional health issues. Services include individual counseling and programs on mental health topics of interest to college-aged men and women.

WesWELL, the Office of Health Education, utilizes current health promotion techniques to empower students to take active responsibility for their own well-being and to support their academic success.  The health topics addressed by WesWELL through educational outreach include, but are not limited to, alcohol, tobacco & other drugs, sexual health, sexual assault, eating disorders, stress management, and more.  The professional staff and student Peer Health Advocates offer health promotion programs and events, provide referrals to health resources, and maintain an extensive website and in-house library.  Non-credit classes in Yoga, Meditation, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Cardio Kickboxing, and more are also offered each semester for a reasonable fee.

The Department of Physical Education provides the Wesleyan community with a broad spectrum of opportunities for physical activity and fitness. This broad-based program includes 29 intercollegiate varsity sports; a physical education curriculum with an emphasis on lifetime skills; fitness activities; and outdoor education. The program also includes club sports, recreation activities and a comprehensive intramural program. Visit the Athletics home page to access a wealth of information on these opportunities and to view the facilities available to students.
