Parent-to-parent outreach
programs are designed to offer parent volunteers, both near and far, an
opportunity to build the parent community through networking, communicating
directly with other parents in person, on the phone and via e-mail.
-
Veteran parents greet new
Wesleyan families on
Arrival Day, both in the Student Resources Pavilion
and in residential facilities across campus.
-
Actively involved parents
place
welcoming calls
to new Wesleyan families prior to and immediately
after their arrival on campus, offering friendly connections.
-
Experienced Wesleyan parents
provide interested families
of newly admitted students an opportunity to reach out
to them via the
Parent-to-Parent Resource List volunteer program.
-
Experienced parents serve as
panelists in April during WesFest, responding to questions expressed by
parents of admitted students.
-
Parents
participate on the
ParentsTalk list, in which parents can communicate electronically
directly with each other.
These programs are especially important in engaging parents outside of the
local area, in order to make the Wesleyan family a more encompassing,
inclusive community. If you are interested in being involved, need more information or have a
question, please contact the Office of Parent Programs via e-mail
or phone (860) 685-3756. |
