"Physics is the liberal arts education for a technological society." Physics Today, January 1997

The Physics Department provides cutting-edge education and research at Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. levels.  Our students master topics in focus areas that include fundamental quantum mechanics, high energy plasmas, low temperature superfluids, photonics, biomolecular interactions, fluid mechanics, and more.  Around half of our undergraduates are involved in research that is funded by the National Science Foundation, the American Chemical Society, and the Air Force.
