Annual "Energy Efficiency Essay Contest"
For students |
As part of the eesmartsTM energy education program, The United Illuminating Company (UI) and The Connecticut Light & Power Company (CL&P) are proud to sponsor a middle school essay contest for grades six, seven and eight. The contest is part of a middle school curriculum supplement available to teachers at no cost.Your students are invited to write a one- to two-page original essay. All participants will receive recognition, and winners will receive special awards. The contest is open to all students, but the judges will look for a demonstrated understanding of the energy lessons in the eesmarts middle school program. To that end, we encourage you to use the eesmarts supplemental materials with your class and submit the evaluation form to UI.
