Weekend Essentials: Planning Your Visit
Registration
All alumni MUST register. Parents and families of
graduating seniors MUST register if planning to participate in an event with a
fee so that we can properly plan for their arrival. If parents and families or
guests are attending events for which there is no fee, there is no need to
register. You can register by completing and mailing in the enclosed
registration form or by using our secure online form.
Pre-registration Deadline
Registrations must be received by May 12. You will
receive a confirmation postcard within approximately two weeks of registering.
We cannot guarantee that registrations received after May 12 will be processed
prior to the weekend. Registrations received after May 12 will be assessed a $25
fee.
On-Site Registration
The
schedule of events
is preliminary, subject to change, and does not include most event locations.
We encourage
EVERYONE to check in at the Registration site (Office of Alumni and Parent
Relations, 330 High Street) to receive the final weekend schedule
(with updates and event locations), meal tickets, and other essential
information.
Registration Site Hours:
Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you have questions about your registration, need to
make changes, haven’t received confirmation, or plan to arrive after 10 p.m.,
please contact Kathy Macko in the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at
860/685-2737 or kmacko@wesleyan.edu.
Refunds
Refunds can only be made through Friday, May 12, or in
extreme emergency situations. Refund checks will be mailed after Reunion &
Commencement Weekend bookkeeping is completed in late June.
Don’t Forget
Bring your camera, scrapbooks, Wesleyan memorabilia,
music, and anything else that will make the weekend special. May weather can be
unpredictable in New England; we recommend that you bring a light jacket and
umbrella. Wesleyan’s athletic facilities and fields will be open throughout
Reunion & Commencement Weekend; bring your bathing suit/cap, racket/softball
glove, frisbee, etc., and check your final schedule for facility hours.
Special Assistance
The University is committed to full access and reasonable
accommodations for all people. Please let us know in advance if you or your
guests have any special needs. Contact Laurie Zolty in the Office of Alumni and
Parent Relations at 860/685-3527 or lzolty@wesleyan.edu
to make arrangements.
Weekend Meals
Wesleyan Campus Dining service prepares most Reunion &
Commencement Weekend meals. To help them plan accurately, please reserve meals
in advance to guarantee availability. There may be a limited number of extra
meal tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis during the weekend at
the Registration site (Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, 330 High Street).
Please register as early as possible and not later than May 12.
Meal tickets will not be mailed in advance; you will
receive the appropriate meal tickets when you stop by the Registration site to
obtain your Reunion & Commencement Weekend arrival packet.
Breakfast on Friday and Saturday may be purchased at the
Campus Center Grill and does not require advance registration.
Note: There
is no charge for the Saturday picnic lunch held during the Festival on Foss
Hill; therefore, registration and tickets for this meal are not required. Brunch
is available on Sunday and does require advance registration.
Children’s Meals
Children aged 12 or under (not participating in Camp
Cardinal) are welcome to attend the Friday picnic lunch and Friday All-College
Dinner free of charge. For planning purposes, everyone—including those attending
free of charge—must register in advance for meals.
Vegetarian or Vegan Meals
A vegetarian or vegan alternative is provided at every
meal.
Parking and Transportation
Parking
Ample parking is available at the Middlesex Mutual
Parking Garage (two blocks from campus at the junction of Court and Main
Streets) and the Vine Street parking lot (adjacent to the tennis courts) during
Reunion & Commencement Weekend. Shuttle vans will run regularly between these
lots and all sites on campus. A few smaller lots will be reserved for members of
the Classes of 1953 and earlier, as well as for any individuals with
disabilities. A parking/shuttle flyer will be included in your welcome packet.
Student Shuttle Service
If you need a ride from Bradley International Airport (Hartford/Springfield),
Tweed Airport (New Haven), or from the Meriden or New Haven train stations, we
will do our best to accommodate your needs with our student shuttle service.
Please contact Beka Back ’05 in the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at
860-685-2418 or interns@wesleyan.edu in advance of the weekend to make
arrangements.
