Muse in Music: Writing for the Hip-Hop Generation
The musical genre known as hip-hop has a profound
influence worldwide and has become a powerful tool for engaging a multicultural
generation. Panelists will discuss current issues and trends within the hip-hop
community and hip-hop’s influence on writing, style, and culture.

Professor of Sociology and 2000 recipient of the Binswanger Prize for Excellence
in Teaching, whose current courses include “The Sociology of Music in Social
Movements”;
