Camp Cardinal
Reunion & Commencement Weekend is a Family Event—Bring the Kids!
The entire family is strongly encouraged to participate in Reunion & Commencement Weekend. While you attend various activities, your children (ages 4 months through 12 years) may enjoy Camp Cardinal, a supervised program created to entertain children during the weekend.
Preschool Program ages 4 Months to 5 Years
For the 16th consecutive year, the Neighborhood Preschool—a licensed day-care facility serving the Middletown and Wesleyan communities—will operate a special program exclusively for children of alumni and parents attending Reunion & Commencement Weekend. The professional, trained staff will organize games and other activities, and will also provide quiet time, when needed, for the younger children in the group. The Preschool is conveniently located on the Wesleyan campus at 115 High Street, near the Butterfield residence halls.
Children's Program Ages 6 to 12 Years
The Children's Program will provide entertainment and supervision for 6- to 12-year-olds attending Reunion & Commencement Weekend. The program begins on Friday afternoon with games and activities, including the 11th annual all-campus scavenger hunt, and concludes with a pizza party and movies. Saturday's schedule features more games, meals, and lots of other fun-filled indoor and outdoor activities on campus.
"Counselors in Training"
While we will not offer a schedule of activities for teens, children 13 and older are welcome to act as "counselors in training" throughout the weekend. Teens may assist student counselors with various children's activities during Camp Cardinal hours. Please contact Sarah Myksin '06, assistant director of events, at smyksin@wesleyan.edu or 860/685-2522 to make arrangements.
