Class of 1972 35th Reunion Gift

This year, our class is hoping to make a meaningful gift to Wesleyan, in honor of our Reunion, through the Wesleyan Fund. Our gifts support the University's highest priorities including financial aid. This is a special year for Wesleyan as we are also celebrating our 175th anniversary. The class has already exceeded last year’s gift totals! The next milestones for our class will be to surpass 1972’s last Reunion total, $200,069 from the 30th, and the all–time one year Fund total for the class of $335,387 set in 2001.

Reinventing Oneself and Lifetime Learning (Office of Admission 70 Wyllys Avenue) Saturday at 9am, Join members of the Class of 1972 for a discussion led by Professor Karl Scheibe about how we match our changing life interests to new career directions.
35th Reunion Gathering: Reliving the Don Juan Course Saturday at 10am (Room 136, Public Affairs Center (PAC), 238 Church Street) In the spring of 1969 David Winter and Nicholas Knight taught an interdisciplinary course on Don Juan that still stands out in the memories of all involved. Professor Knight will be there in person and we hope to have Professor Winter on the phone.
WESeminar 14: The Art and Science of Collecting (Cinema, Center for the Arts) Saturday at 10am, Join Steven Alpert '72, P'07, Professor Paoletti and three other alumni to talk about their collections, their experiences collecting and working with other collectors, and about how their Wesleyan experience has informed their search for objects.

WESeminar 23: Coeducation at Wesleyan: The 1872–1912 Experiment Saturday 2pm (Kerr Lecture Hall (Shanklin 107), Hall–Atwater). Wesleyan University is the only undergraduate institution in the United States that has "gone coed" twice. Join Lucy Knight '72 and others for a discussion about the role women played in the history of Wesleyan.
WESeminar 32: Coeducation at Wesleyan: The 1969–1974 Transformation (Kerr Lecture Hall (Shanklin 107), Hall–Atwater) Saturday 2pm, Picking up where WESeminar 23 left off, join Lucy Knight '72, Bonnie Blair '72, Helen Hubbard Marr '71, Joanne Young '71 and others to discuss Wesleyan's second period of coeducation when women returned as undergraduate transfer students in 1969.
WESeminar 39: Translating the Languages of Medicine Saturday 4pm (Crowell Concert Hall, Center for the Arts), Join the panel of distinguished clinicians, including Bob White '72, whose varied specializations include: working at the forefront of medical research, playing a key role in the process of bringing new drugs to market, and educating the next generation of physicians.

Reunion Accommodations

Our class will be staying at the Hawthorne Inn (Berlin, CT, 860/828-4181). The rates are $125/$150 night. Reserve your room soon, before the hotel fills up. When you call, please ask for the "Wesleyan Reunion" block in order to get the special rate. A limited number of dorm rooms will also be available if you would prefer to stay on campus. Dorm rooms are $100 per person for the weekend and you can reserve your room when you officially register for Reunion.
