ADVANCED PLACEMENT CREDIT

2008-2009

(Revised May, 2008)

Normally, a student who has completed an Advanced Placement course and has achieved a score of 4 or 5 and completed the required follow-up course will receive one or two credits toward the Wesleyan degree of Bachelor of Arts. The student must fill out a "Request for Advanced Placement Credit" form (except for English, Biology, Computer Science (as of 9/2000) and Physics (as of 9/2001) which are entered automatically and return it to the Registrar's Office.

Starting with the incoming class of 2004, Wesleyan will apply towards graduation a maximum of two credits (AP, IB, credit earned at another institution) earned before matriculation. While a maximum of two credits will be counted toward the Wesleyan degree, all such credits that have been duly approved by Wesleyan will be listed on the student's transcript.

Additional information about Advanced Placement credits may be obtained from the Dean's Office or from the relevant department.

NOTE: Advanced Placement credits may not be counted toward admission to the major.

Advanced Placement credits will apply towards "over subscription" in a department.
