Fall 2009
Dear Honors Candidates in ARST and
FILM,
Because you will either be
participating in your senior thesis art exhibition as a Studio
Arts major or producing a 16mm, virtual, or digital film as a
Film Studies major, we realize that you will not be registering
a written body of work on the day that theses are due.
However, if you will be applying to the Thorndike Fund, you must
submit the application form and any related paperwork by the 4
pm thesis deadline, which is Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
The Thorndike Fund partially
reimburses students for the binding and printing costs of their
department and Olin Library thesis/essay copies. The available
balance in the Thorndike Fund for the 2009/10 year will be
divided evenly by the number of honors candidates and applied as
a credit in the Thesis Registration System for every student
registering a thesis/essay, in order to offset costs. Students
will be informed of the 2009/10 credit amount prior to Thesis
Registration. Students producing an art or film project are
also eligible for this credit and may apply for it by obtaining
a Thorndike application form from the Registrar's Office.
Please contact me if you would like a copy of the application
form.
If you have any questions about
the Honors Program or the Thorndike Fund, please don't hesitate
to contact me.
I wish you all the best with your
solo exhibition or senior film.
Sincerely,
Beth Labriola
