Changes to a class schedule after the initial drop/add period, including adding/dropping 4th quarter classes, require students to navigate to their "Class Schedule" in WesPortal and follow directions on how to correct their schedule. All requests will need to go through the workflow for consideration. Students will receive an email when the request is either fully approved and processed, or denied at any stage of the process. FACULTY can review pending requests by clicking on the link they receive via email or simply clicking this link.

  • FAQ

Adding Courses to ‘Course(s) Scheduled’ and 'Course(s) Scheduled'
Courses can only be added via the individual course pages in WesMaps. Here is an example on how to add a course: 1. In the upper frame (WesMaps), click 'Astronomy'. 2. Click 'Courses Offered'. 3. Click 'ASTR105.01'. 4. Click 'Add to My Courses'.

    Class Meeting Pattern
Students already enrolled in courses that meet Tuesday/Thursday, should pursue courses that meet Monday/Wednesday/Friday. The WesMaps Search allows students to specifiy day of week and time of day when creating a list of available/eligible courses.

    Deadline
The deadline to participate is 5pm EST on Monday, August 21.

    First Year Seminars
First year students not already enrolled in a First Year Seminar course are strongly encouragaed to enroll in am FYS during Pre-Adjustment during the Fall or Spring semester.

    GenEd Expectations
Students should create a Fall class schedule with courses from 2-3 GenEd Divisions. For instance, students enrolled in all NSM courses, should pursue HA/SBS courses. The WesMaps Search allows students to designate a GenEd Division as a filter variable.

    GenEd Status: NOT COMPLIANT
You can ignore this status at this point because you have not yet completed any Wesleyan courses. The inclusion of courses that fulfill Wesleyan's general education expectations is vital to the student's educational experience at Wesleyan.

Permission of Instructor & Prerequisite Override Requests
Students will be able to submit electronic requests during Adjustment Preparation, which begins at 9am on Tuesday, August 22.

    Pre-Major Advisor Assignment
Faculty advisor assignments will be released at 9am on Tuesday, August 22.

    WesMaps Search
The most effective and efficient method to finding available and eligible courses is via the WesMaps Search. Students can further customize the search criteria, but the following will produce a list of courses that all new students should consider making part of their ranked plan.

    • Semester=Fall 2017
    • Class Year=First Year
    • Only show courses without PreReqs=check
    • Only show courses without POI=check
    • Only show courses with Seats Available=check
  • Pre-Registration: Pre-Adjustment

    During Pre-Adjustment, students can:

    • enroll in available courses
    • drop enrolled courses
    • assign ranked Drop/Add requests
    • search WesMaps for available courses
  • Pre-Registration: Adjustment Preparation

Scheduled courses and advisor assignments will be posted and available to students and advisors in WesPortal at 9am on Tuesday, August 22. Pre-Reg Adjustment Preparation will end at 7:59am on Friday, September 1.

Students should access the adjustment system before their official adjustment time to prepare. Since adjustment is in real time, it is important for students to take the time now to search WesMaps for courses to add to their 'not scheduled' list. Students who wait to find courses risk losing available seats to other students.

    During this time, students can:

    • review course enrollments
    • assign ranked Drop/Add requests
    • submit POI/prereq requests
    • add courses to 'not scheduled' list
    • search WesMaps for courses to pursue during Adjustment and Drop/Add
  • Pre-Registration: Adjustment

The Pre-Reg Adjustment system will be open from 8am - 10am on Friday, September 1.

The system will open in a staggered order fashion:

    • 8am - students with less than three enrolled full credit courses
    • 9am - students with three or four enrolled full credit courses

    During this time, students can:

    • enroll in available courses
    • drop enrolled courses
    • assign ranked Drop/Add requests
    • submit POI/prereq requests
    • search WesMaps for available courses

    During this time, advisors can:

    • take action electronically/remotely
    • approve enrollments/drops
    • deny enrollments/drops
    • request a discussion regarding enrollments/drops ('See Me' option)
  • Resources
  • WesMaps

WesMaps is the online course catalog.
