Etgar Keret

A best-selling author and screenwriter, Etgar Keret is a popular cultural figure among young Israelis, who view his stories, cartoons, and films as accurately expressing their world.  He is a lecturer at the Tel Aviv University School of Film, and in fall 2004 is a scholar-in-residence at Wesleyan in Jewish and Israel Studies.  This event explores Keret's work and his impressions of writing for film in Israel.

A screening of three short films written by Keret is followed by a roundtable discussion with him and members of Wesleyan's Jewish and Israel Studies and Film Studies faculty.
