General Room Selection (GRS) is comprised of four parts: Off-Campus Housing, Program Houses and Community Based Living, Copenhagens, and Room Selection Nights in April. All GRS registration needs to be completed online through your e-portfolio. To participate in the GRS process, you must first agree to the terms of the Housing Contract and acknowledge the Lead Paint Disclosure.
If you need a housing consideration or need to renew a consideration for 2014/15, please contact Laura Patey at Disability Resources no later than February 3, 2014. For more information, please visit: http://www.wesleyan.edu/studentaffairs/disabilities/studentguide.html.
In your student portfolio, you will see your point value on a table that will look just like the one you will receive in the Room Selection emails. Point values are assigned to a student based upon the number of semesters they have lived on campus. Point values are as follows:
1 to 2 semesters = 1 point
3 semesters = 1.5 points
Note: If a student studied abroad, the semester(s) abroad do count towards GRS points. If you have a question about your GRS points, please contact the office of Residential Life at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than March 5, 2014.
A slight increase in your point value will be granted for the following:
Class of 2015: if, when you went to room selection to select housing, there were no more apartments available.
Class of 2016: if, when you went to room selection to select housing, there were no more rooms available
Any increase in points will be reflected in your e-portfolio. Point adjustments cannot be saved for future use. If you are participating in any part of GRS for fall 2013 housing, your point adjustment will be applied this year. The only exception are students not able to use the adjustment due to studying abroad in the fall.
