First
and many second year students at Wesleyan are housed in residence halls, each of
which has its own personality and advantages. Living in residence halls includes
living in communities
with at least one upper-class student who serves as a Resident Advisor (RA).
RAs develop community, provide opportunities for social and
educational growth, and serve as a resource to help you learn about Wesleyan.
Each residential unit includes a laundry room with card-operated washers and
dryers. Each student room has one telephone line, cable connection, and a
high-speed internet access port per person, along with wireless connection.
Student housing at Wesleyan
University is designed so that first and second year students live together in residence
halls near the center of campus. As they move through their years at
Wesleyan, students have an opportunity to
choose an increasingly more independent living option from residence hall
doubles to singles to program houses, apartments, and eventually woodframe houses. All of these options are within a 5-10 minute walk from the
center of campus. All of our units house both men and women, however some
residence halls are coed on each floor, while other halls offer single-gender
floors and gender neutral housing throughout campus. No smoking is allowed in any of the residence halls.
Residential facilities vary by, size, room type, and ratio of first-year to
upper-class students.
