"The study of Italian, like the study of other languages, helps prepare Wesleyan students to become citizens of the world.
Italian Studies offers the opportunity to consider, in a sustained way, Italy, Italian Language, and Italian Culture from a variety of vantage points. In addition to the gateway Italian Language sequence (Ital 101-112), the Italian Section offers advanced courses on subjects ranging from the Medieval and Renaissance period through to the present. These interdisciplinary courses offer advanced students of Italian a way to integrate their study abroad experience into their Wesleyan education, whether or not Italian Studies is the student's major field."
