Funding Your Event
The following are the available sources of funding on campus for your events.
Keep these in mind as you are planning your programs. Remember that each funding
source has different timelines and requirements as well as possible allocation
amounts.
1.
Student Budget Committee (SBC)
Sponsored by the Wesleyan Student Assembly
The SBC oversees the allocation of funds for all student groups officially
recognized by the Community Outreach Committee (COCo) and serves as a resource
to all student organizations regarding the allocation process and other funding
sources on campus.
2. Student Program Fund (SPF)
Sponsored by the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development
The SPF exists to assist
student organizations in funding cultural, educational and social events. This
fund will help offset the programmatic costs (food, facility reservation,
set-up/breakdown fees, speaker fees, outside vendor fees, etc.) incurred by WSA
student organizations.
3. Diversity and Academic Advancement Fund
Sponsored by the Dean for Diversity and Academic Advancement
Diversity and Academic
Advancement Funds (DAAF) are made available to engage diversity, in the broadest
sense of the word, as a catalyst for institutional change at Wesleyan
University.
4.
Healthful Words Fund
Sponsored by the Office of Health Education/WesWELL
The HWF was developed to support the planning and implementation of
student-initiated educational events which address health issues relevant to the
Wesleyan population. The HWF provides mini-grants of up to $150 for individuals
or individual student organizations or up to $350 to multiple organizations who
collaborate on a project.
5. Snowdon
Fund
Sponsored by the University Lectures Committee and the Snowdon Family
The primary purpose of Snowdon-funded lectures is to expand, enrich, and
enliven intellectual exchange among members of the Wesleyan community by
bringing renowned public leaders to campus. The most important criteria for
Snowdon-funded events are intellectual substance and the opportunity for
community interaction with visitors.
Other common sources of funding include:
Academic Department Contributions
Residential Life Co-sponsorships
Student Organization Collaboration & Co-sponsorship
Fundraising Efforts
