Student Office Assistant Job Description
The Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development provides advice,
guidance and acts as a resource for students and student organizations. Our
goal is to help student organizers be successful in planning social,
cultural, intellectual, political, and recreational programs. The office
enhances out-of-classroom experiences that promote personal development and
leadership training.
Duties:
- Process room requests from the online room request system (EMS)
- Assist with general clerical duties
- Conduct web research
to develop new resources for students
- Process student Social Event Registration forms
- Assist in making funding decisions to support student events
- Assist in updating and maintaining the student activities and
orientation websites
- Assist in managing the hiring processes for orientation
- Research other institutions’ student activities
- Answer general inquiries about SALD through email and phone
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent
communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student,
faculty and staff populations. Familiarity with various computer software
programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Frontpage. etc.). Ability to maintain
confidentiality. Most important qualities are dependability, accuracy, and
attention to detail. Work will be 6-10 Hours a week during our standard hours of 8:30-5:00.
