Past Issues

The articles in "Scientists" were written by scientists themselves for the general community. The writers of this magazine are the people who best know the material that they are writing about, having devoted months or years to their research. They are inviting you into their laboratories, whether these are at the bottom of the Science Center, the particle accelerators across the country or the observatories that witness the fluid jets of stars in interstellar space.

SCIENTISTS - Spring '98

In the Spring semester of 1997, students in the course "Writing About Science" (Joy McConnell, Instructor) created four "special issues" of Synthesis as independent group projects:

An edition ofSynthesis featuring both fictional and expository writing was published in 1989-90 as part of the general education course, Intellectual and Cultural Perspectives on Science, developed by Professor David Beveridge. Although the '89-'90 edition of Synthesis was produced as a traditional magazine, an on-line adaptation is now available
