The Wesleyan Lawyers Association (WLA) invites you to its official kickoff event during Homecoming/Family Weekend. With the help of all interested alumni, the Association hopes to create many more opportunities for its members, interested alumni, and current students with an interest in the law to interact. Keynote speaker Theodore M. Shaw '76 will discuss the impact of his Wesleyan experience on his exceptional and storied legal career path as one of the nation's leading voices on civil rights. Prior to accepting his present position as a faculty member at Columbia University Law School, Ted served as Director-Counsel and President of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc. The event will also provide networking opportunities before and after the keynote address. Practicing and non-practicing lawyers, law students, graduate and undergraduate students considering careers in law, and Wesleyan professors are welcome.
