    The Fifth Heaven (with English subtitles) was directed by Dina Zvi Riklis. This film takes place in British controlled Palestine in 1944. Maya, deserted by her father, is brought to an orphanage for Jewish girls. The director of the orphanage remembers his past love affair with Maya's mother, while Maya develops feelings for one of the anti-British resistance fighters who is a fiance of another orphanage worker. The film is based on a novel of Rachel Eytan, winner of the prestigious Brenner Prize. Speaker: Professor Sami Berdugo, Visiting Professor
